Settings

Appearance, note size, and the data controls.

Settings live in the dashboard. Open them with the gear icon in the dock, or the gear in the dashboard’s top bar. Esc goes back.

Changes apply immediately, in every open tab — you don’t need to reload.

Appearance

Color scheme — Light, Dark, or Device. Device follows your system setting and is the default. This controls Pagenail’s own interface: the dock, the note panel, your notes, and the dashboard.

Note font size — 12px to 18px, 14px by default. Applies to the text inside stickies, global notes, and thread notes.

Your data

Three controls, in the order you’d want to use them:

Export backup downloads everything Pagenail has stored locally as a JSON file. Do this before removing or reloading the extension.

Import backup reads one of those files back. It replaces your current data rather than merging — anything written since that backup is lost. Reload the dashboard afterwards to see the result.

Clear all data permanently deletes every note and preference. It asks for confirmation first, and it cannot be undone. Export a backup first if there’s any doubt.

See Getting your notes out for what’s in a backup file and how the other export routes differ.
